I received this in an email this morning and am making a donation. Mr. Duncan makes a very, very good point ... I hope that you, too, will donate and do whatever you can to ensure that Obama LOSES this coming November.
As hard-working Americans, we can't afford an Obama presidency.
================================
During his recent speech in Berlin, Barack Obama tried to ingratiate himself to the foreign crowd by claiming loudly that he was “a citizen of the world.”
The problem is Obama’s self-proclaimed global “citizenship” appears to go well beyond just a rhetorical device to gain favor with a European throng full of pie-in-the-sky utopians.
It seems the Democrats’ would-be president of the United States of America really believes that the rest of the world’s problems, and approval, trump the interests of Americans when it comes to how we live our lives and where our money is spent.
While stumping for the support of his party’s leftist base, Obama proclaimed, "we can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times . . . and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK."
And now he’s putting your money where his mouth is.
A bill he has sponsored in the U.S. Senate, the so-called Global Poverty Act(S. 2433), would raise the amount of American tax dollars allocated to United Nations’ redistribution efforts to $845 billion.
That’s $2,500 from every American taxpayer, when many in our country already are struggling to make ends meet.
And if you think taxes and energy costs are high now, wait until Obama’s global energy and production taxes are made law by the Nancy Pelosi/Harry Reid-run Democrat Congress.
Is this what Pelosi meant when she said, “I’m trying to save the planet! I’m trying to save the planet!”?
Senator Obama and the Democrats don’t seem to understand that American prosperity is a result of the hard work of American citizens in a free market economy. And that the American people already are the most generous in the world when it comes to global aid.
Help us show Barack Obama that Americans don’t need foreign approval to lead their lives as they see fit, and that he ought to remember that he is running for president of the United States, not the United Nations.
Please make a secure online contribution of $2,000, $1,000, $500, $100, $50 or $25 today to provide Republican candidates with the resources they urgently need to tell voters about the Obama Democrats’ plans for America.
The future of an America whose government makes its own citizens its first priority may depend on it.
Sincerely,
Robert M. "Mike" Duncan
Chairman, Republican National Committee

As strange as it seems we do agree on somethings :)
I definately hope that the Lord is merciful to this country and we do not end up with Obama as president.
I will not be surprised though if he gets it. I'm not sure what Catholics believe as far as the Lord's coming back? But I believe it is very soon, in fact, the Rapture could happen any day. I believe we are in the end times and this country is looking at judgment for the sins it allows to run rampant ( homosexuality, abortion, fornication etc)
I believe being led by someone like Obama is a small part of judgment on a nation.
One of the judgments on Israel when she was in sin was, Isa 3:4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. and Obama's lack of experience certainly qualifies him in that aspect. (yes I know it isn't an exact application)
Another verse of judgment on Israel though I think fits our times is, Isa 29:14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. but while looking for that verse I found one that explains why there is so little wisdom today - Jer 8:9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?
By the way you might actually enjoy my present post - although I hope you will go back and read the previous three posts also. The present on is a fun post if you want to take part.
Kerri, My Dad and I were just on the phone discussing this story. My father and I have similar religious beliefs, in that religion is a personal thing. It's not up to us to convert people to Christ as only God can work on a person's heart. We can be examples of our faith by the way we live, but we don't stand on street corners and preach.
With that in mind, it was shocking that we got into a discussion about this today -- my Dad is certain that Obama is the anti-Christ. Seriously.
Does Obama have Muslim ties? I do not know ... but a quick look at his prominent supporters (Farrakhan, Oprah, Sharpton, American Muslims, etc.) and the fact that he claims to be Christian yet supports anti-Christian ideals says a lot.
You are right, we are on agreement with this one.
Remember to vote McCain in November. A vote against McCain is a vote FOR Obama.
I'm curious if you don't mind,
you mention the anti-christ. What does your church teach about the second coming?, anti-christ?, rapture?, where Jesus will set up the millineum (sp?) reign when He does come back?
Kerri, I have no problem with the question. I will take some time in the morning to give it the attention it needs. We are running out to dinner and then I know that I'll collapse when I get home. I just wanted to publish your comment and let you know that I'm not brushing you off. --Pam
To Kerri,
I've been pondering a response to you and every time I start it becomes this huge post. Instead, read the official teaching at http://www.catholic.com/library/Rapture.asp
Read what is there and we can go foreward. This give the church's general view of the end-of-times issues.
