Add to this weight on my body -- lungs, stomach, skin, ... knees -- the fact that I feel like I have the flu. I'm congested, running a low-grade fever, snotty, achy, extremely tired, coughing, etc. I just feel ... sick. I'm hesitant to take anything more than Tylenol. It could just be a combination of very late pregnancy and season allergies ... who knows?
I'm trying not to sit and concentrate on the fact that I am still ... freaking ... pregnant, but it's hard. I miss going to work. I even miss the whiney drug seekers ("I had a root canal ... I need this Percocet NOW!" ... "I dropped my bottle of Lortab and lost all my pills. I really NEED to get this prescription refilled early!") I miss being able to play with my daughter or to clean the house properly. I miss being able to go to football games or to goof off with my husband. If I have not delivered by Wednesday, my OB has agreed to schedule an induction. HOORAY! I would love for Anna to come on Sept. 11th ... early on that Thursday. Otherwise, I am going to ask my doctor to schedule me for Sept. 17th. I really have to be home by the 20th. Trust me. The hospital staff does NOT want me there on the 20th. At all. If you are a football fan, you know why.
Mentioning football, my phone rang Saturday night just as the Miami (Fl) at Florida game kicked off. I didn't recognize the number and was like, "Who the hell is calling me during a football game?!?!" I ignored the call. A little while later I get text message from the same number. I had just updated my status on Facebook to something like "Pamela wishes she was in the Swamp right now!" The text said, "In the Swamp ... you need anything? Gators suck!"
I thought that they were reading my Facebook page. Florida had just scored, so I wrote back, "Yeah, more of those Gator TD's!" Long story short, one of our old pals from our old paper had traveled to the game. He's a die-hard 'Canes fan. We texted throughout the first half. I'm still jealous that he made it down to the Swamp while I was at home "12 months pregnant."
I hope that he had a good time, though. I'll have to give him a call in a little while.
He has since become a PR guy for the Republican party. He told me that he grabbed a few things for me at the convention. Hooray!
Well, I need to get off my big butt and get some work done. I really do have a large to-do list for the day. I want to get these things done to take my mind off my bodily woes and to try to get this baby to drop down. She was a -2 last week ... I'm hoping at least for a -1 this Wednesday. A zero would be wonderful!
Have a wonderful week!
