Life on the Border: Fending off Illegal Immigrants

I received this via email this morning ... I am so going to have to subscribe to this magazine. I want to read this article!

=======================================

Dear Friend,

Just when I thought I knew everything about the immigration issue...

I was just emailed the immigration cover story for the upcoming September issue of Townhall's Magazine and it's quite an eye-opener. Life On The Border takes us to the border and tells the stories of the hard-working American landowners who live in a zone of danger and destruction.

While Washington D.C. seems unwilling to do anything about illegal immigration, these folks on the border need help immediately.

For Americans who live on the border, daily life includes being confronted with as many as 1,000 illegals walking through their land -- sometimes loitering, sleeping, eating, vandalizing and littering on their land. Water pipes are broken, piles of trash get dumped, livestock is injured, freed through broken fences, or even killed. Brush fires started by illegals are commonplace as the illegals coming through the land leave a trail of destruction.

Their stories are shocking to read. Amazingly, these American citizens are largely defenseless because law-enforcement is often unwilling to intercede. In a few cases, landowners have been charged with crimes after trying to defend their families and land.

In other areas of the border, it is so dangerous that border patrol agents don't dare go.

Their stories are coming in the September issue of Townhall Magazine.

The September issue will also have the latest from Michelle Malkin, Mary Katharine Ham, an interview with Kathleen Parker plus plus plenty of insightful analysis, humor and wit.

Townhall Magazine is fresh, intelligent and conservative. You will want a copy for your house, your family, and you will want one for your airport layover.

Special Bonus book for subscribers:

Noted author and columnist Victor Davis Hanson has been dealing with the illegal immigration issue for years. In his book Mexifornia: A State of Becoming, Hanson locates the cause of our immigration quagmire in the opportunistic coalition of conservative corporations, contractors and agribusiness and liberal academics, journalists and bureaucrats that stymies immigration reform and, even worse, stifles any honest discussion of the present crisis.

It's free with a subscription to Townhall Magazine. Click here to get the combination border expose and Hanson's book today.

In Mexifornia, Hanson indicts the policies that got California into its present mess, but is hopeful that our traditions of assimilation, integration and intermarriage may yet remedy a predicament that politicians and ideologues have allowed to get out of hand.

The special report and book are two things you simply need to see. Without them, our side is simply unprepared for what's ahead.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Garthwaite
Editor-in-Chief, Townhall.com
