Dealing with P.U.P.P.P., the kiddo's new duds, and a continued countdown

It's been a long couple of weeks. This rash is driving me mad. It's called a P.U.P.P.P. rash and there is really nothing that can be done for it, nothing except delivering your baby.

P.U.P.P.P. stands for Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy. It occurs near the end of pregnancy and is believed to be caused by the stretching that occurs during that last stretch. I haven't (knock on wood!) gotten it on my belly like most women. I get it on both of my legs, from top to bottom. I wake myself up literally clawing my skin. I've used almost every kind of cream you can think of. I've bathed in Aveeno. I've used cold compresses. These things alleviate the itching for an hour or so, but it always come back with a vengence.

I think that I am a bit dehydrated as I have not been drinking nearly as much water as I used to. I know that I should, but I'm in the bathroom so much as it is ... If I add in 12 to 14 glasses of water a day I might as well move into our bathroom ... or invest in some adult diapers. (Insert laughing smilie!)

As least it will be gone soon. We are hoping that Anna Rose arrives in the next couple of weeks (I'm hoping for a laboring Labor Day!) I have gotten huge ... I am nearing the 170 pound mark (YIKES) and am having problems standing for more than 10 to 15 minutes at a time, sitting upright, breathing, and even eating. Anna is pushing on my lungs and stomach, so I can't take a deep breath or eat very much at a time, she is pushing in my pelvis, so it's hard to stand or walk, and her pushing on my bladder makes it feel like it's the size of a walnut. Oh, the joys of pregnancy!

You know ... Saturday brings a full moon! There is something to lunar cycles and human behavior (where do you think that term "LUNAtic" came from?) ... working in a pharmacy at night, I can attest to full moons and a larger than normal amount of control seekers and odd accident victims coming in to get scripts filled from the local E.R.s. It makes sense ... humans are over 80% water. The moon controls the tides, how can it not have some kind of effect on use water-based creatures? Plus, I'll be doing a LOT of standing and walking tomorrow and Saturday. I've got a doctor's appointment, I've got to hit Babies 'R' Us, and then I'm helping out at the pharmacy for four hours in the evening. Saturday brings both Patrick Star at the Aquarium AND the Animal Planet Expo, to which I am taking Bella. Come Saturday night at 9:18 p.m.? Who knows? :D

Then again, fewer babies are born on the weekend ... the next full moon isn't until Monday, Sept. 15th. Oh dear ... please don't let it take that long!

At least Bella is all happy. The Philadelphia Eagles jersey that I ordered for her came in mail yesterday. She ran to her room and grabbed some black pants and a white tee shirt. She changed clothes and then put her jersey on. Now she and her daddy have matching jerseys ... she was so excited to show him when he came home last night. (He didn't know that I'd ordered it.) We also have two really cute Eagles outfits for Anna ... I can't wait to get a photo of the three of them watching football this Fall!

Either way, the countdown to the original due date is still on my computer (and family websites), as it gives me a time limit, you know? I know that the maximum amount of time left in this state is currently 42 days. Thank the Lord!

Well, the "cooling effects" of the Gold Bond Medicated Body Lotion is wearing off ... time to reapply!

Have a wonderful afternoon!
