It was January 12, 2001 and it was cold. I mean, freaking COLD.
It was 32 degrees and drizzling rain. Just miserable outside. But I had made a promise and I was NOT going to back out.A couple of weeks before I had gotten a call from a representative of PeTA and they wanted to know if I'd be interested in helping with a protest of the Ringling Brothers Circus that was coming to Greenville. Tickets were going to go on sale on the 12th and they needed someone to dress up like a tiger and sit in a cage. I was notorious for protesting at that time so what the heck?
This is what it turned out to be ... I'm in the cage on the right side.)

Ah... well ... I still have a special place in my heart for PETA. But...
I am getting ready to buy tickets to the Ringling Bros. show in Columbia this Saturday. I'll be attending the pro-life rally at the State house and then heading over to the arena with my two-year-old to see the tigers and elephants.
Man ... becoming a parent changes everything.
